It was very easy to install. My critique would be that the basket sat a little awkward in the seat (the angles maybe) I believe the loops in the back of the basket are for the seat belt to go through. It was slightly challenging trying to get the seat belt to sit nicely through the loops. Just the heighth of the basket and the two straps sat weird. The leash that is in the basket is a little too short. I have a small 10 pound Boston terrier, and I had to makeshift a leash to make it work. It did seem comfortable for her, it’s a lot easier traveling with this doggie seat. I think if your dog hops out of it and they’re wearing a collar that’s hooked to it it could be dangerous if you can’t immediately get them back in the basket. I had a neck collar with me but I’ll be purchasing a harness and I think that’ll work better. She only hopped out once and the leash was long enough for her to touch the car seat so it wasn’t a big deal but I’d watch out. I’d buy it again, it’s not perfect but it got the job done!My 5 pound Morkie loves to go in the car now. I made some adjustments to make it fit between the two front seats so she is still by me and two people an ride.. She jumps right in her special booster chair and stays there till I shut the car off. She can see out the windows and is safe...Had been looking for a car seat for both my girls to share since they freak out if they aren't touching or near eachother and I came across this one and it's perfect!! Fits them both plus they have extra wiggle room. We can now all go run errands together and stop at Starbucks without them jumping around and moving everywhere. Feel like the car seat also helps with their car anxiety which is a bonus. I would definitely recommend this !!My babies are 6lbs and 7lbs so if yours are around the same weight they will fit together ?I have had several seats over the years for my 17yo maltese/poodle. Console seats, big ones so he can look out the window. This one is great because itʻs not huge, is super easy to install/remove and collapses so you can stash it in the car when you donʻt need it! I do keep a full size sheet in it so there is a little more durability as he likes to stand up on the edge and stick his head out the window a little. This seat is great! I love it. I like that it collapses easily for storage! Will post photo of this model.Posting photo of similar dog seat (goes around headrest and back of seat leaving room beneath) but this one did not collapse easily, so we returned, but otherwise theyʻre the same thing. This seat saved my dog’s life. I was in a bad accident and she was in the front seat strapped in. Although with the impact she fell out of her seat, she was still strapped to the harness hook which saved her from flying out further. I was so grateful I didn’t lose her that night and it’s all thanks to this seat! Highly recommend for anyone with small dogs to get this and always strap your dogs to their seat.Catie used to just sit on the seat with her seat belt and she would sleep the whole trip. I felt bad for her not being able to see out the window - we have a van. So, I ordered this, thinking that maybe she could look out the window if she wanted to. OMG! She is so happy to go in the car now. She can see out the window, she feels safer since she's in a 'box' (four sides safety). We bought her a little stuffed bunny to use for a pillow when she sleeps in there, but for the most part, she likes to peek over the top when she's lying down or sit up and look out the window. Happy girl!Overall, this seat is a great carrier for my little guy. I ordered a small because he weighs only 7.5 pounds. The seating could be a little roomier. The belt that attaches to his collar is too short an doesn't allow him to move around or lay down comfortably. I'm looking for an extension. The other problem is threading the seat belt through the dog carrier is not easy. It can be done, but not without stress. Once everything is in place, it is a very sturdy carrier and my little guy enjoys being able to look out the window comfortably, even though he's stuck in one position. He loves windowpane! I love the safety!First, the liner is flimsy and does not have enough velcro to hold it in placeSecond I asked a question about using both tethers on one dog.. which my husband did. Never got an answer.Took our dachshund for a training ride to town. 17 miles on the Interstate. She was good until we got off and were in town. She got very anxious. I was in passenger seat. She was behind me. She was fine when we picked up our 4 yr old granddaughter. Her seat was behind the driver seat. Our puppy was a wreck the whole way home. Went to get her out. Evidentally she was going in circles in the seat. The two teathers were wound so tightly together the her harness was pulled so tight with it, we could not disconnect her. My husband had to cut her new harness with a knife to free her.Tomorrow we are going to purchase a new fastener that swivels. Hopefully this will never happen again. We have 2 days left to return it. My husband says "Keep it."I will probably make a better cover. Like the size of this, we have a long dog. She has plenty of room. She is 2 yrs old and very nervous. Trying to take short trips with her. Now we have to get a new harness. She has only worn this one 3 times.I have a miniature dachshund who weighs 6.5 - 7 kilos, he hated travelling in the car even on my lap (passenger seat) and I was encouraged to try this after reading the reviews and recommendations on the dachshund groups on Facebook. We have more than one vehicle so quick easy fitting was a must, the strap that goes over the headrest has plenty of adjustment and is easy to set the height so your dog can look out of the window. And the seat belt just feeds through the loops on the back. The first journey we did was 20 minutes each way, the first part of the journey he cried for the first 10 minutes then settled down and curled up on his blankets, the journey home he only cried for a couple of minutes before settling again, we were pleasantly amazed.Since then we have done much longer journeys and know when he starts crying or getting restless it's for a toilet stop.An additional bonus to having this is we can take him with us to a dog friendly pub for a meal out and with a bit of adjustment the strap holds the bed secure on a chair ??The positives are: The concept of this is great. It is a bit fiddly to secure around your car seat, but it does provide a great window view for your dog and keeps them secure. The design is nice to look at.The negatives are: although this is advertised as an XL size, it is not. Although the width is a decent size, the depth is quite narrow, so a larger dog is forced to stand sideways (which is not ideal on long journeys). The plastic is hard so if your dog is standing and you brake quickly, I do wonder if it will damage the dog's legs.MOST IMPORTANTLY: I bought this from Amazon Global. I needed the jumbo version as this was far too small for my dog in practice so needed to return it. The return policy is lengthy and expensive. Buying this involved postage and import costs. Returning this involves physically taking it to a postoffice (no home collection) and paying very expensive postage costs which are greater than the cost of the product (Amazon have said they will refund me this but obviously I doubt I will be refunded for the initial postage and import changes initially paid out). So, to summarise - if you are buying this, make sure it is the size you need and that you aim not to have to return it.Out puppy was getting really travel sick and was not enjoying being in the car at all. He would cry and whine all the time he was in the car and having made quite a mess of his travel crate a few times (and my car seats!) from travel sickness I looked into other options and gave this a go. He hasn't been sick in the car once since and will quite happily jump into the seat himself, we don't have the carry him kicking and screaming into the car. He spends each journey sitting or lying quietly and is as good as gold. My only critism is that the tethers within the basket are a little on the long side so we have to loop them through his harness and clip them back into the anchor point otherwise he can almost get out of it. We should have probably gone for a smaller size but we are planning to get another puppy next year so it's nice to know we'll have room for two in there.Love the colour and style of this dog booster seat. Lovely material and matches the light interior of my car very well.Easy to assemble, only have to put one piece in to make the construction fairly sturdy (although not completely sturdy).Comes up quite small as I ordered the next size up and my dog just about fits in (based on weight) - can sit, curl up and stand up to look out the window. On my bucket seats - the edges don't quite fit into the seat comfortably and so leave indentation marks in my leather seat after use. The front stays raised, but the back seems to slowly slide downwards, causing an increasing slant (which my dog is not too keen on) - even with the backrest belt put in place.Think may be better if placed on the seat instead of in elevated position - however the belt attachment that goes round the headrest is too short to make this possible in my car. Will have to either prop up with a cushion to prevent the slanting and make more stable, or else I'll have to return it. Not yet decided.Felt that the item should have come with a carry case or bag to place it in when not in use - as so many others do.After asking Amazon customers (thanks for all the replies!) how to keep this in shape, the sides kept collapsing, I have come to the conclusion that unlike a previous make I bought, (the only crash tested sort) now too small for my dachshund, this model does not just sit on the car seat and stay in shape, it needs to be kept fully stretched up from the head rest. I had my last one strapped around the seat and attached to the headrest too but the construction was solid enough to stay box shaped on its own. I could not make the metal struts keep it up on this one , even if everyone else said they could. It collapsed to a few inches high without the pull up from the belt around the headrest. The top rim is also a bit hard and I will have to pad it for my dog to rest his head comfortably on it. I will probably exchange the two lobster type harness clasps for the stronger carabiner type one from the smaller carrier too. Room for an improved design I think. But it was the only bigger one I could find.
