I bought black and place a thick, round place mat on top of the plastic when I eat dinner. The rattan mats look chic on the black background. Expensive Chinese rosewood table. However, due to the awkward shape of the mats, I discovered that there has been seepage from the bottom sides of the mat, either from steam or drips that gets trapped under the mat. My table has been damaged and has cloudy water stains. I started being more careful when discovering this and wipe down the mats after dining and I also dry them overnight in case they maintain moisture. It's a real bummer this happened. So, if you use these, place them on top of a rectangular cloth placement in order to catch drips or steam.Love! Match my chairs perfectlyGreat size, fit round table well.
