I am editing my review to go from 4 stars to 2 stars:Here is my review from 2014:I love everything about this broom EXCEPT for the fact that the little plastic thing on the top of the handle slips off on a regular basis. The sweeping action is perfect. It is sturdy--except for that little knob thing coming off. I would buy another if I needed an extra broom.Here is my 9-17-16 review:I was sweeping the back patio a few minutes ago, and the metal handle that "will not crack, warp or splinter" just suddenly gave way and bent and broke in two in the middle of the handle, leaving sharp metal ends. The bristle end is still fine, but I am very disappointed that the handle only lasted from 9-18-14 until 9-17-16.I bought this broom due to it being the commercial grade type. I've become tired of the crappy kitchen brooms that you can buy at Walmart (which never quite pick everything up), and decided to order one of these for sweeping my apartment. It works great! It actually gets the dirt up, and into the dust pan. I get that this type of broom was designed for retail and food service establishments, but I don't care. For anyone who wants a better broom for their home than the crappy Walmart specials, this is the broom for you!This broom has been keeping my home clean since purchase. The broom is quite large and can sweep very easily. I haven't had any issues with the bristles coming loose, though I have the stick loosen up from the bristles. The broom has very good quality bristles and can take a lot of abuse. If need be, I'd have no problem reordering the broom. I highly recommend.I have used O'Cedar products for more than 60 years. My mother used them before I did. We used to buy them from door to door salesmen. They are wonderful products. This broom is perfect to use on my outdoor patio - concrete and carpeting areas. I'm thrilled that I can now buy their products from amazon! I've been happy with every product I've ever used of theirs.Nice and sturdy. Black part comes detached from the bottom when you're sweeping but aside from being annoying, doesn't impact performance.This broom works great.. thick enough bristles to pick up everything on the first pass, Works great on fine dust that other brooms often leave behind.Seemed like a soundly designed broom and had some of the best reviews so perhaps I was unlucky enough to get a defective one. Whatever the reason, the first time we tried to sweep off our porch the plastic tip of the broom handle snapped off. From what I can see it is not easily repairable.So, a word of caution to others. This is not the durable, industrial quality cleaning tool it is described as. At best it is typical lightweight broom made with lots of plastic. I suspect I would still be able to sweep my porch if I had opted for the old fashioned wooden handled corn broom!New brooms sweep clean.
