My cat always has a tendency to flip over her water dish and make a mess. We decided to get this mat and pair it with a fountain that was heavy enough to keep her from tipping it over. She has definitely tried, but this mat sticks to the floor and prevents her from even pulling it. If she makes a mess, it's super easy to wipe it off and because of the small lip, it keeps it from running onto the floor. Will be purchasing again.I got this to put under my pups bowls and it is the perfect size. It is light weight and if something spills, just wipe it up with a cloth or paper towel or roll it up and run it under a faucet.
