The cover is made of soft 3/32" thick foam with thinner than food-wrap foil on top.Although pictured as a smooth waterproof cover, I'm unsure if this is non-leaking; with my picture attached showing thread holes. The second picture shows the cover after 3 days of being rolled up to try and flatten the picture 1 received folds. The water will sit in all the crevices - unsure how long the cover will last. I'm going to see what happens over time and possibly put silicone on the threads if there's leakage onto my a/c that would cause trapped moisture and possible rust between the cover and a/c top. Info received: The vendor said the item can be 'used as normal'; meaning the threads in the foil shouldn't be a problem. I will update.I'm hoping it will retain the stiffness to protect my a/c from the all-day summer sun with 100f+ temps.
