I use these fans everywhere: bedroom, office, kitchen...Air flow: Superb, lots of air, probably because of the lack of an enclosure. Two speeds, which I would call "medium" and "high". (No "low".)Safety: Touching the moving blades doesn't hurt. (Probably not true for for small children, or infirm or elderly adults). If you touch them accidentally it's very startling, especially for somebody who isn't expecting it.Noise: Quieter than most fans at comparable air flow settings. Does not disturb my cube-mate. However, especially as it ages, it can induce a lot of vibration in the surface it's sitting on, if the surface is not heavy. This can be mitigated by putting a mat or two under it. (The little rubber feet don't help at all.)Durability: Good, better than others I've tried. Over a period of 8 years I've owned 10 of these, and the average lifespan of quiet operation (without rattling) is around 9000 hours of use (around 1 year of continuous 24-hour use). I've taken them on trips and transported them in luggage with no problem; the head twists down into a position where the blades are partially protected by the stand. Overall the unit "feels" more solid than other fans I've tried. Once, I noticed one of them was moving slowly due to some friction between the blades and body. This was fixed by giving a little "pull" on the blade hub to nudge it away from the body. I've never had any of them completely fail to operate (I discard them when they start rattling).Usability: Unlike some fans I've tried, it's easy to toggle the switch with only one hand. The angle rotates up and down easily. There is no horizontal adjustment, and it doesn't automatically rotate. When adjusting it from the front, I usually have to stop the blade with my hand so I can reach the head to rotate it.
