The mounting system is great. Read other reviews for instructions. Follow those & pay attention to doing the things all the way. Just like a door: if you don’t latch it, it will swing.I’ve found it certainly doesn’t stain easily. It is capable of getting dirty, and should be cleaned regularly; it will easily go back to white. I don’t think I should have to further explain that toilet seats should be cleaned.It is also sturdy. The heaviest person in my house weighs about 220 lbs, and we’ve had zero durability concerns. I’m not sure about heavier people because I’m not keen on the idea of asking the big neighbor down the street to take my toilet seat for a test run. That just seems too weird for the neighborly relationship.Last, it comes in a box that is absolutely perfect for reuse in gag gifting! It looks like something classy while wrapped, then turns hard south when the paper comes off.The Cotton white is beautiful. Attaching the screws to the toilet was a snap. Only needed a flat head screwdriver. But attaching the seat to the toilet connectors (screws) and turning the locking things to lock into place took a couple three tries, but I got it on. So, easier to remove than to reinstall. But not a deal breaker. How often do you remove your toilet seat to clean it? Twice a year maybe. The rest of the time you just wipe it down.Great toilet seat. Easy to install (once you watch the instruction video). The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 it that the instructions were not included with the product. After spending what seemed like a lifetime fiddling with it and working up a ton of frustration, I went back to the order and clicked on "Get Product Support" and found the instruction video. If you don't want to include instructions with the product, please say that there is an instruction video located in "Get Product Support".Perfect match although color chart should be better. What color is almond ? As I was not familiar with releaseble hinges, there should have been some instruction. Everything is "EASY" when you know it. Delivery was off by a day but it didn't matter. Driver should ring bell when package is left outside. Screen doors open out and if package is placed against sceen door it makes it hard to open, if package is very heavy it may make it impossible to open. Drivers should be advised of this.Would have been nice to have directions in or on the box of how to install. I had to Google it because the installation it is different from the other ones I have purchased. Also mine came with a black mark on it ( see pic ) that won’t come off. Other then that it’s a pretty decent toilet seat.Couldn’t be easier to mount. Just as easy to remove to really clean all the toilet surface. We’re talking seconds, not minutes, to remove and reinstall.I prefer the solidness of a wood seat. Be aware that the enamel will eventually break down and require you to replace the seat. Just be gentle with the cleaning and it will last at least a couple years.We bought a house built in the late 70s...toilets were a pale gray (use the photo on the left, that seems a little closer to what they are). Although we retiled, we never replaced the toilet. But try to find a matching color toilet seat? Almost impossible!We tried every pale gray we could find (and other than Amazon, no one actually sells anything other than wood or white, so I must have returned more than I care to remember). Finally called BEMIS to get color chips, but the customer service representative was able to determine the color simply by the age and toilet manufacturer. SILVER? Not even close to what I would call that color, but apparently American Standard did back then, so that's what Bemis calls it now.So I took a chance and ordered it, hoping it would match. Opened it and stood there with my mouth hanging open...it was EXACT! So I immediately ordered another. Both are in and look like they came with the toilet.Easy as pie to install and attach. Tighten the screws and then drop the seat on and flip the latch to the right. Unlock by flipping to the latch to the left and it lifts right off. No idea why people say this seat slides...maybe they didn't lock the tabs completely because this thing is on tight and is not going anywhere!Can't talk to the reviews about the color coming off when cleaning. I used a damp sponge to clean it since it was brand new, but based on what some here say, I won't be using harsh cleaners (and if it does happen, at less than $20, I'll just order another one).For those trying to match the color of any toilet other than white—I wholeheartedly recommend this! It comes in multiple colors (more than I ever knew toilets came in) and is half the price of what you pay at Home Depot or even Walmart. And if you don't want plastic, you can't beat this!Great toilet seat. Amazon customer service personal should all jump into the toilet seat, I've been on chat with them now for almost two hours and over 7 people, seems no one can help me with a situation.The delivery (from USA) went smoothly. It was bought to replace an existing Bemis seat, the hinge of which had cracked, once the hinge was on the point of actual failure.The Amazon site points out the new, easily released hinges, but what it DOES NOT POINT OUT is that the distance between the two hinges has also changed !!The result was that both the new hinges had to be removed and then pilot holes drilled before they could be repositioned. There are now the 'old hoes' visible until I can find a suitable powder blue filler to fill them.SUGGEST the Amazon site should specify the distance between the hinge centres AND that Bemis should provide replacement seats that matched to old measurements as an option.Other than that it is a good loo seat, albeit on the expensive side.I live in the UK, this product is for a different market. The hole centres for fixing are 140mm, my toilet is 155mm. Buyers beware. Amazon shouldn't sell these in the UK without giving warning. Returning something is a nightmare, so looks like I've wasted £23.This product is comfortable to use, and well made. It is very easy to install with modern plastic fittings, that also enable a push on and prise off ability when it is required to remove and re-fix the seat for cleaning.Purchased this as existing one was splashed with cleaner. Thought it would be a case of one off one on, no such luck. Really disappointed that no instructions are included. Will probably have to return.Bought this product as we had existing Bemis toilet seat needing replacing with 'easy replace' fittings. What the website does not say is that the toilet seats have changed - the hinges are now closer together so they do not fit the toilets!! Do not buy.
