We bought this hood to replace our old range hood. The old one was a ventless hood, which just blows back into the room. This Samsung smart hood is vented, so it actually take the air outside through an exhaust pipe in the roof. We haven't had any issues with the fire alarm going off since installing it! That was a frequent issue with the old hood.Being a Samsung device, this range hood works with SmartThings. The wireless connection works well. It was easy to set up and we haven't had any issues with connectivity. The voice control via Alexa works well too. You can also manually control the hoods power, vent strength (off / low / medium / high), and light (off/high/low) via touch icons on the front. These are not backlit and that's my only very minor thing I wish was different because it can be hard to see the icons when in the dark or with the glare of the hood's light. But it's not that big of am issue.The hood looks great too, and is very low-profile. It's pretty quiet on the low vent power setting too.Overall, I'm very happy with this range hood. It was a great purchase!
