I love the idea of the built-in rest to keep the spoon from touching the counter or stove top, but it's bulkier which makes it harder to find a place to set it down. Also, like lots of newer utensils, the finish is not smooth, so it's harder to tell if it's clean. Most important: although it's dishwasher safe, the space between the rest and the spoon can get food stuck in it. Once we found a whole noodle!We got it to use for gluten free (celiac) cooking, but this isn't sure-fire enough for what we need, especially with the dishwasher problem. For us it's 3 stars, but for most people I'd say 4.
