The casing is made of fiberglass. After four years of Florida sun, I get these awful rashes every time I work on my pool equipment. I blamed some random plants, but today realized that there are fiberglass shards stuck all in my arms, just from rubbing up against the pool filter. If this is happening on the outside, am I getting fiberglass in my pool? So many questions. I would recommend getting something if not made of a different material, at least get something to cover the filter casing so that the sun’s UV doesn’t break it down.
