Edit:Still happy after like a year or two with this scoop, however I will say that there are probably better brands making the exact same thing. A couple of the welds on mine have broken, but not in a way that makes it less usable. Yet it leads me to believe that this manufacturer does not have the greatest quality control. Many companies sell scoops of this exact same design. Find a good brand and pull the trigger! You’ll never look back, it’s litter scooping bliss, lol. But one other item of note is poor ergonomics. The steel wire cage design is great for the business end of the scoop, but the handle should be more ergonomic and comfortable to hold! I cut off the handle from a broken plastic scoop and inserted it between the handle’s steel wires, then wrapped the two nested handles in electrical tape. Now I don’t get painful carpal tunnel from the bad handle design. So as long as no more of the wire cage welds break, this scoop will continue to function for a long time I’m sure. Anyway, I guess the message of my ~1.5 year edit to this review is that you should definitely buy this DESIGN of scoop, but not necessarily this BRAND! And if the handle hurts your hand, insert something round inside it and wrap it up with tape.Original, unedited review:What more is there to say? This thing is perfect save for the fact that the sides of the scoop don’t really hold in clumps of waste as well as the middle of the scoop. And the smallest bits of waste will fall through if you break up a clump of urine. Neither are a big deal at all though, especially when you consider the time saved.If you use crystal litter which absorbs the urine without clumping, or other non clumping litter types, I imagine you’ll add this thing to your list of “3 Apocalypse Items”, seriously you can’t live without it once you understand how fast and easy scooping can be. But I use clumping litter, and I am also thrilled with this thing. Just be careful to not break up the clumps, and maybe keep a finer grain sifting scoop around just in case one breaks apart, necessitating a ‘surgical’ removal.Really though I just scoop without a care in the world. The stuck-on clumps come right out with a bit of forceful, steady scraping action. I immediately dump what comes out in the scoop rather than let it sift. If any clumps disintegrate, I’m dumping the scoop in the waste box faster than the disintegrated clumps can break through. Result is much cleaner in fact than finer grain sifting scoops.I scoop more often and to greater affect now because it’s so much faster and easier. I spend less time bending over. My cats are probably more satisfied now too. This thing absolutely negates the desire for an automatic litter box, one of those self sifting monstrosities that cost $300. Screw that, this thing is a lifesaver!
